for two early works of one of its most famous sons, Le Corbusier, it is also one of the most important homes and production sites for old-established Swiss watch brands such as Tag-Heuer, Ebel and Girard-Perregaux and of a now highly specialised electronics industry. 20 RFL544 LED street luminaires were installed to illuminate the central marketplace of one of the highest positioned cities in Europe.
La Chaux-de-Fonds is a planned city from the 18th century. The Place de Marché is a wider street space in the square-shaped street grid. For its illumination 20 “WE-EF RFL544 LED luminaires” were used with a colour temperature of 5,350 degrees Kelvin. Each individual luminaire contains four modules, each with nine LEDs, which produces a luminous flux of 6,120 lumens at 88 watts. Ten of the luminaires are divided up into groups of two on five poles, which have been set along the centre of the square at a height of six meter. Another ten “RFL544 luminaires” were attached to ten separate wall brackets.
