The Castello Baradello was erected in the 12th century by Friedrich Barbarossa on the southwestern shore of Lake Como above the city of Como. The fortress ruin a Romanesque defence tower and a double, half-disintegrated ring wall offers a magnificent prospect of the city and sea and is a popular destination not only for tourists. The castello also serves the inhabitants for pleasure, and the widely visible tower is a landmark for the entire region. It is now also visible at night. The tower radiates in a new light, thanks to the technical lighting concept developed by Ing. Giovanni Moschioni Studio Gamma, Como, in which the castello is essentially lit up by diverse LED lighting systems from iGuzzini.
